Reports To: HR Director and Owner/HR Payroll

Objective of Position : The Benefits/Payroll/HR Specialist position will be responsible for maintaining and managing organization wide duties of benefits/HR/payroll, new associate orientation including offering company benefits to qualified new associates, keeping personnel computer and hard copy files current. Education & Experience : A HS diploma or GED. Payroll experience along with an HR background through secondary education is a plus. Construction knowledge is an added bonus. Training and Safety experience is an added plus.

Exempt Full-Time Position with benefits offerings of health, dental, vision, life ins., accident, LTD, STD, Pet Insurance & in-store discounts. Benefits available after 60 days of employment.

Essential Job Functions/Skills:

1) Exhibit strong customer service, organizational, communication and presentation skills.

2) Able to self-motivate, take initiative and work independently.

3) Ability to travel from site to site, therefore a valid drivers’ license with an acceptable driving record for insurance purposes is required. Travel will be approximately 20% of the time.

4) Learn and properly answer and utilize the phone system.

5) Perform the payroll duties as required and keeping hard copies on shared drives as needed.

7) Assist in other payroll/HR personnel duties including but not limited to compile and review timecards for managerial approval, track and compute approved commissions for drywall and rental, set up child support, wage garnishments, payroll deductions in the computer system with payroll company, enter wages, benefits and other employment updates as directed.

9) Provide and oversee new associate orientation at each of our locations. Maintain, update and track completion of the orientation provided.

10) Learn and ensure training requirements are met for each position.

Work Environment : Typical day will be 8 hours (full time). Majority of the work is inside the store that is heated and is air conditioned with occasional work requirement to be exposed to outside temperature variations in the yard or construction job site. Physical Requirements : Degree: Light work-lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds regularly. May rarely lift from 25 - 50 pounds but can get assistance from a team member. Person must use hands for repetitive use such as using the laptop or computer and calculators 75-80% of the time. Typical requirements in an 8hour day: A. Sit/Stand/Walk: 6-8 hours B. Infrequently bend, stoop, squat 15% of the time. Could occasionally be asked to work a weekend if you need to reach out to team members working on the weekend. This is infrequent.
