Overview
We are looking for a creative, client-focused Kitchen & Bath Designer to join our small remodeling business on a contract basis. You will guide homeowners through the entire design and selection process — from the initial consultation to final specifications — and earn commission on every project you close. This role is ideal for a self-motivated designer who wants flexibility and the ability to directly control their income.
What You'll Do
• Meet with clients to understand their design vision, budget, and functional needs
• Create custom kitchen and bathroom layouts using CAD or design software
• Present design concepts, cabinet selections, finishes, and material options
• Prepare accurate quotes and detailed project specifications
• Guide clients through product selections including cabinetry, countertops, and fixtures
• Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project
• Collaborate with our project managers and installers to ensure designs are executed correctly
• Stay current on design trends and product offerings
What We're Looking For
• Experience in kitchen and bath design, cabinetry sales, or interior design
• Proficiency with design software such as 2020 Design, Chief Architect, or similar
• Solid understanding of cabinetry and basic construction/installation processes
• Strong consultative sales and communication skills
• Self-starter who can manage their own client pipeline with minimal supervision
• Portfolio of completed kitchen and/or bath projects (required)
• NKBA certification or related credentials are a plus, but not required
Compensation
This is a commission-only, 1099 independent contractor position. Your earning potential is uncapped — the more projects you design and close, the more you earn. Competitive commission rates are offered on every completed sale.
