The Role
We are seeking experienced Paramedics with strong acute care and emergency medicine backgrounds to provide on-site medical support services. This role begins as an “as-needed” (PRN) position to support sporadic referrals and new contract volume, with the clear opportunity to expand into Part-Time and potentially Full-Time roles as our patient base in Jacksonville and surrounding counties continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Mobile Clinical Support: Deliver high-quality field-based clinical support and assist with medical management in patients’ homes or facilities under established protocols and provider direction when required.
Rapid Response: Respond promptly and efficiently to referrals within Jacksonville and surrounding areas.
Clinical Assessment: Perform focused patient assessments, obtain vital signs, initiate appropriate interventions within scope of practice, and escalate concerns appropriately.
Procedural Support: Assist NPs and physicians with bedside procedures (e.g., IV access, midlines, catheter placements, wound care, lab draws, and point-of-care testing).
Care Coordination: Communicate effectively with the administrative team and clinical leadership to ensure smooth patient transitions and follow-up.
Documentation: Complete accurate and timely electronic documentation for all patient encounters in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Licensure: Active Florida Paramedic license in good standing.
Experience: Prior experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Emergency Department, or critical care transport preferred.
Clinical Competency: Strong IV skills, patient assessment abilities, and comfort operating in non-traditional clinical environments (home-based care).
Independence: Ability to function confidently in the field with remote physician or NP oversight as required.
Travel: Reliable vehicle and willingness to travel within Jacksonville and nearby counties as assigned.
Communication: Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills to represent SOS Mobile Medical Care with integrity in partner facilities and patient homes.
