The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG)

The Permanente Medical Group is seeking a full-time Pediatric Hospitalist to join Kaiser Oakland Medical Center s close-knit, collaborative Pediatric Hospital Medicine team. The job offers the clinical depth of tertiary care within a community hospital environment with the opportunity to build a career that blends academic engagement and exceptional clinical practice.

Position Highlights

  • Fully Benefitted, 0.8 FTE position
  • Pediatric Inpatient Tertiary Ward: high acuity medicine in a supportive, collaborative environment
    • Mixed 25-bed ward caring for all pediatric patients including: General Pediatrics, subspecialty, oncology, and surgical and patients
    • Co-manage oncology and surgical patients
    • Serve as primary attending on all other pediatric admissions
    • Oakland-based subspecialists in-house
  • Robust academic teaching environment educating and mentoring our next generation of physician with:
    • 30 Pediatric residents
    • 8 Family Medicine residents
    • 4 Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellows
    • UCSF medical students
  • Collaborative structure: our physicians share a balanced mix of shifts
    • 2 teaching services
    • 1 non-teaching/admit/triage service
    • 2 in house attendings overnight
    • No NICU or Newborn nursery coverage
    • Entire department shares the coverage of each shift type, including on service, triage, nights/weekends

Minimum Qualifications

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Hospital Medicine
    OR
  • A minimum of 4 years of clinical experience in Pediatric Hospital Medicine

Full-time annual salary range is $293,940 to $305,040 plus additional potential incentives up to $42,960 . Reduced schedules with pro-rated compensation may be available. Some incentive opportunities are estimates based on potential premium pay.
