Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled
Microsoft Power BI Developer with a
reinsurance industry background to join our dynamic team and transform data into actionable intelligence. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions using
Power BI, Databricks, and
dbt. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver high-quality dashboards and reports that drive data-driven decision-making.
Technical Skill Requirements: - Business Intelligence: Power BI, Azure Databricks, Azure Analysis Services (SSAS), Azure Data Lake Analytics, Azure Data Lake Store (ADLS), Power Apps, SSRS, DAX, Power Query (M Language).
- Database Technologies: Azure SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, MongoDB.
Experience Required: Power BI Reporting - Design and develop business intelligence dashboards, analytical reports, and data visualizations using Power BI, ensuring accessibility for various user groups.
- Expertise in architecting and developing Power BI solutions, configuring data security, managing licenses, and sharing reports within the organization.
- Proficient in writing parameterized queries for generating tabular reports, sub-reports, expressions, functions, and advanced reporting features such as drill-down, drill-through, scorecards, and paginated reports.
- Develop Power BI dashboards by creating multiple DAX-based measures for various user groups.
- Utilize Power Pivot and Power View to build data analysis prototypes.
- Create interactive reports that provide actionable insights and facilitate informed decision-making.
Data Engineering: - Hands-on experience with Microsoft BI/Azure BI solutions , including Power BI, Azure Databricks, Azure Analysis Services, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Strong understanding of zure big data technologies , including Azure Data Lake Analytics and Azure Data Lake Store.
- Experience developing notebooks in Databricks for managing data through Medallion architecture (raw → staged → curated).
- Expertise in data warehouse development , applying both normalization and de-normalization techniques.
- Experience developing zure Analysis Services tabular databases , deploying them in Microsoft Azure, and scheduling cubes via zure Automation Runbook .
- Extensive experience in building tabular models , aggregations, KPIs, and measures.
Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand reporting needs.
- Utilize Databricks and dbt to create gold-standard reporting objects for Power BI dashboards.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and custom reports using Power BI.
- Build data models and execute data transformations using Power Query and DAX .
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through rigorous validation and quality checks.
- Optimize Power BI reports for performance and usability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Power BI-related issues promptly.
- Document processes, data sources, and report specifications for future reference.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI , including Power Query, DAX, and data modeling .
- Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
- Solid understanding of data visualization best practices .
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills .
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with other BI tools (IBM Cognos, Tableau, QlikView) is a plus.
- Reinsurance industry knowledge is preferred.
