Primary Function:

Assist Production Control in coordinating and meeting shipping deadlines on customer products. This will include but not be limited to facilitating product movement to and from various departments and transacting and maintaining accurate inventories throughout the process and coordinating subcontract shipments to and from various vendors.

Tools and Equipment:

Various office and production tools and equipment, especially those which interface with IQMS ERP. Use of hand trucks and motorized lift trucks

Materials:

Castings, tote pans, handcart, computers, etc.

Direction of Others:

Frequently works with supervisors, group leaders and operational excellence leader to provide direction and prioritization of tasks on the production floor and proper flow of inventory.

Working Procedure:

The following are the usual major job duties, but this job description does not preclude the performance of other duties as assigned by the supervisor:
• Coordinate with Production Control to schedule daily release of customer product to production floor, supporting delivery schedule.
• Expedite parts to and from multiple departments by interfacing with several functions including Production, Quality, Engineering Supervisors and vendors as required.
• Communicate regularly with the Supervisor and on occasion, Sales team, updating them on the status of their parts and production plans, providing milestones, etc.
• Support outside services scheduling and tracking for production products, in relation to scheduled pick-ups and deliveries with subcontract vendors.
• Assist production supervisors with providing direction and priority lists to shop floor employees.
• Verify inventory counts, locations and necessary records in connection with goods shipped.
• Maintain Supermarket inventory locations.
• Assist with inventory maintenance: cycle counting and complete physical inventories.
• Assist with correcting inventory transactions and reaffirming best practices with Group Leads and Supervisors.
• Assist in ensuring deliveries of specifically assigned production parts by coordination of all departments after casting and production control.
• May be required to assist in the coordination/scheduling of subcontracting for products.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
• Must follow all safety requirements of job as outlined on the job safety card.
• Complete all paperwork associated with the job. Correctly maintain all forms and instruction sheets
• Maintain a clean and orderly working environment.
• Inform immediate supervisor about problems that occur.
• May be required to handle hazardous waste by collecting and transferring the waste into proper containers at satellite storage areas or storage areas and assuring that the containers are properly inspected, labeled, and closed as required. Must follow correct instruction for handling hazardous waste and report any deviations to supervisor immediately. Must attend yearly instruction in hazardous waste handling and review of current procedures if job duties could affect non-compliance.

Special Skills and/or Experience:
• Vision requirement of 20/30, near correctable.
• Proficiency with High School-level mathematics required.
• Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be proficient in use of MRP system, IQMS desirable.
• Knowledge of production methods and production control is desirable.
• Organizational and communication skills are essential.
• Requires sufficient strength and physical dexterity to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Must be able to obtain a valid lift truck license as needed.

Minimum Education Requirements:
• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
