In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult and/or pediatric patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures. Drawing on your clinical expertise and critical thinking skills, you will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care across the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative continuum. The Registered Nurse Surgical Specialty will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans for surgical patients, monitoring patient status, administering medications and treatments, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. You will prioritize patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to evidence-based protocols, including surgical checklists, time-outs, and sterile technique. In addition, you will provide education to patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, pain management, and discharge instructions, promoting understanding and engagement in the care process. Aligned with HCA Healthcare’s culture of compassion, teamwork, and learning, you will actively participate in interdisciplinary rounds, contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, and support a collaborative environment that values communication and mutual respect. You will precept or mentor new staff and nursing students as needed, share best practices, and participate in ongoing professional development to advance your surgical nursing knowledge and skills. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced technology and diverse surgical specialties while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes. As part of a leading healthcare organization, you will have access to robust clinical resources, evidence-based practice tools, and career development programs. You will be expected to maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and ethical standards, including protecting patient privacy and promoting a culture of integrity. This role is ideal for a motivated surgical nurse who is passionate about patient-centered care, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to continuous learning and professional growth within HCA Healthcare’s extensive network of hospitals and surgical facilities.
