Research Fellow in Global Mental Health Implementation Science Position Overview Postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard Medical School’s Global Health and Social Medicine Department (GHSM). The role supports research in the Mental Health for All Lab (MHFAL), focusing on innovative digital technologies and task‑sharing to scale effective psychosocial interventions in underserved settings globally, especially in India and the U.S. Position starts September2026. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; deadlineAugust312026. The role is one year, renewable based on performance, business need, and funding. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and conduct an independent research project that extends and complements the lab’s work; write and submit grant proposals; secure IRB and regulatory approvals; conduct data analysis; publish findings and present at conferences and scientific meetings. Act as scientific liaison overseeing day‑to‑day research activities between Harvard Medical School and project sites, leading data analyses and managing virtual meetings; frequent travel to U.S. and international sites required. Design intervention materials, training content, and data collection instruments; lead implementation of study protocols; monitor data collection and quality in the field. Support capacity building by presenting work to local stakeholders and collaborators, mentor research staff, and engage stakeholders in dissemination of findings. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in biostatistics, bioinformatics, implementation science, medicine, health economics, social work, sociology, clinical psychology, epidemiology, or related fields. Expertise in research design and data analysis (clinical trials, implementation science, economic evaluation, digital health, statistical analysis for trials, or big data). Demonstrated track record engaging in fieldwork with stakeholders including study participants, clinicians, community members, and researchers. Experience working or collaborating with researchers in community settings, particularly in underserved and low‑resource areas. Ability to travel for international fieldwork. Current knowledge of serious mental illness, mental health problems, and service interventions for low‑resource settings. Additional Qualifications Clinical, professional, or research experience within disaster response/humanitarian settings (preferred). Ability to travel between the U.S. and India. Harvard may determine visa status and sponsorship; applicable fees may be paid. Location Based in Boston, MA. Frequent travel to field sites in the U.S. and internationally.
