SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT - HYBRID, FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Generates financial statements and performs analysis for a portfolio of client properties
  • Creates and posts journal entries. Ensures that all expenses, receipts, owner's distributions, funding requests and other transactions for the accounting period have been accurately posted.
  • Assumes responsibility for the monthly closing of the general ledger, performing financial reporting and analysis, as well as general accounting functions using independent judgment to analyze and resolve accounting issues.
  • Ensure internal and external reporting requirements are consistently met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Support the strategic direction for the property
  • Provide and perform diverse property and operational accounting services
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Analyze financial statements on a monthly basis, providing variance comments and similar analysis as necessary
  • Respond to requests for information from lenders, owners and investors
  • Determine and monitor cash requirements on a recurring basis
  • Prepare annual operating budgets
  • Monitor procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with Company policies and make recommendations for improvements
  • Participate in special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in Accounting
  • 5+ years General Ledger Accounting experience required
  • Real Estate Accounting experience or Public Accounting experience with Real Estate clients a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and their application
  • Ability to interpret lease documents
  • Dedicated to meeting the expectations of Clients, Lenders, and Management
  • Adaptability to deal with various tasks, environments, and people
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Highly motivated with ability to solve problems and take ownership of projects and results
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
