Vantor, Inc., a leading provider of professional IT services specializing in AI-driven solutions, data analytics, and cloud services, is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer/Product Owner to join our Information Technology (IT) & Digital Solutions team supporting our Defense & Aerospace customers. In this role, you will serve as both a senior systems engineer and a product owner, guiding the design, integration, and lifecycle management of complex, secure, mission-critical systems that enable digital transformation and operational efficiency. You will own the product vision and technical roadmap for cloud-based and on-premise platforms, collaborating closely with defense clients, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate operational requirements into technically sound, scalable, and compliant solutions. Leveraging your expertise in systems engineering, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and modern DevSecOps practices, you will define system architectures, interfaces, and data flows, ensuring interoperability, resilience, and accreditation readiness in demanding Defense & Aerospace environments. As a key decision-maker, you will manage product backlogs, prioritize features based on mission value and risk, and drive the delivery of secure software and infrastructure increments using Agile methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe. You will work alongside AI, data, and cloud specialists to integrate advanced analytics and AI/ML capabilities into secure systems, coordinate with cybersecurity teams to meet DoD security and compliance standards, and champion best practices in systems design, verification, validation, and documentation. This position requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, including requirements elicitation from technical and non-technical users, development of user stories and acceptance criteria, and clear communication of trade-offs, timelines, and risks to leadership and program managers. You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to engineering standards and reference architectures, and help shape Vantor’s Defense & Aerospace solution offerings.
