Retirement: Competitive retirement package to secure your future. Responsibilities The Science of Quality Measurement Program in the Mayo Clinic Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center, led by Dr. Benjamin Pollock, is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Research Associate to join our Kern Center team. Kern Center has nearly 200 staff members of whom 23 are PhD faculty, working on over 140 active projects in collaboration with over 120 practice partners across all Mayo Clinic sites. A Research Associate in Health Service Research (HSR) works independently and leads projects. The primary focus is on health care policy and cutting‑edge research to design, develop, and test strategies that transform patient care and outcomes, particularly in the science of quality measurement. Research may be interchangeable with Epidemiology, Public Health, or Biostatistics. A Research Associate at Mayo Clinic is a temporary transitional role with the primary purpose to allow qualified individuals to work within an established investigator's program in preparation for an academic and/or independent research career. The ability to perform specialized or complex functions would typically be demonstrated through review of scientific accomplishments, contributions, and peer‑reviewed publications averaging at least one per year post‑doctoral degree. The Research Associate is expected to provide leadership support and training within an established research program. Upon background check and CCATS Executive Committee approval, a Research Associate may have patient/research subject contact directly related and incidental to the original research program. Qualifications Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program, preferably epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, or related. 3 years of postdoctoral research experience. Experience working with healthcare services or healthcare delivery data, including administrative claims and EHR data, and healthcare quality outcomes research strongly preferred. Knowledge of hospital quality measures, such as those used in CMS pay-for-performance programs and hospital ratings. Exemption Status: Exempt Compensation Detail: $92,242 - $107,910 per year (Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when offers are extended).
